Dominic Lariccia, 82, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Youngstown, Ohio he was the son of the late Dominic and Caroline (DiPaolo) Lariccia.

Dominic graduated from Ursuline High School in Youngstown, OH in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force as a radar operator, and also played on their softball team. During the 1950's, he played football in the Western New York Football conference for the Niagara Falls Athletics. Dominic worked for many years as a carpenter with Carpenters Union Local 280 in Niagara Falls, NY. He later worked for Tops Markets in the construction services department. Dominic enjoyed a simple life, visiting with friends at OTB and his daily workout at Summit Fitness in Wheatfield.

Mr. Lariccia is survived by his wife Gloria (Porto) Lariccia; four daughters Jeanne (Greg) Shaw of Rochester, NY, Lisa Lariccia of San Diego, CA, Patricia Lariccia of Wheatfield, NY, and Karen (Paul) Nanula of East Amherst, NY; four grandchildren Briana Ponce, Kerri Nanula, Nicole Nanula, and Michael Shaw; a sister Jean (Francis) Santarelli of Youngstown, OH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers: Phyllis "May" (late John) Andello, Josephine, (late Louis) Dutko, Michael (Minnie) Lariccia, James (Bobby of Ft. Lauderdale, FL) Lariccia, and Angelo (Joan of Campbell, OH) Lariccia.


Visitation will be on Saturday February 25th from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 6 PM with Rev. Ronald Maines, officiating, concluding with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
