Donald M. DeFazio, 85, of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 26 in Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, he was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Cristelli) DeFazio; and the beloved husband of Bernice A. (Turchan) DeFazio, whom he married on July 2, 1966 at St. Ann's Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Don immigrated to the United States as a child and moved to Niagara Falls with his family. He was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and received his Associate's degree from Erie Community College. He proudly served in U.S. Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1962.

Don owned and operated Mr. D's Hair World in Niagara Falls, NY and Williamsville, NY for 50 years prior to retiring in 2010. As a devout Catholic, Don was a longtime parishioner of St. Raphael's Church where he served as a religious education instructor, lecturer, and Eucharistic Minister.

In addition to his wife 55 years, he is survived by his siblings, Barbara Ann (late Robert) Skorownski, Garren (Tom Priano) DeFazio and David (Sandra) DeFazio; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. DeFazio's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 AM in St. Raphael Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305. Interment will be held privately in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Canada. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Raphael Parish or Northgate Facilities Hospice Unit.
