Donald W. Pharo, 69, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away on Thursday August 13, 2009 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Leonard G. and Burness (Cornish) Pharo, Sr.

Donald was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1958. On March 9, 1963 he married Nora M. (O'Mara) Pharo in St. Catharines Ontario, Canada. Donald worked at the former International Paper Mill in Niagara Falls, NY until its closing. Afterwards he was employed as a sales agent for various tour agencies in the Niagara Falls area until his retirement in 2002. In his leisure time, Don enjoyed working on puzzles and vacationing in Florida. He also liked working around his house but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the children.

Mr. Pharo was predeceased by his son Craig Allen Pharo. In addition to his wife of forty six years he is also survived by one sister Jacqueline Pacifico of Wheatfield, NY and one brother Leonard G. (Michelle) Pharo, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY. He was the brother-in-law of, Antoinette Sanfilippo of Niagara Falls, NY and Ann (Steve) Terlesky of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday August 17th at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Interment will be held in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
