Dora J. Friona, 90, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Emilia (S'dao) Messina.

Dora was raised in Niagara Falls where she attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On April 30, 1952, she married her beloved husband, John S. Friona in St. Joseph Church. Mr. Friona predeceased her on December 18, 1997.

Dora was employed at Occidental Chemical Company for many years as a clerical typist. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, but above all Dora centered her life around her family who she loved spending time with.

Dora is survived by her children, Anna Marie (Michael) Irish, Doreen (James) Grannis, John N. (Jane) Friona and Diane (Wayne) Libman; her grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Irish, Jason Irish, Derek (Stacy) Carden, Christopher Carden, Claire Friona, Grace Friona, Jenna Libman and Sofia Libman; her sister, Jean (Rocco) Marra; sister-in-law Rose Marie (Kevin) Stack, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dora is also survived by her dear friends Edward Murphy and the Ann-Will Condo Gang. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Messina and Mary (late Martin) Shimmel and her brother-in-law, Anthony (late Evelyn) Friona.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 17 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:00, followed by Dora's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Peters RC Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Dora's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital in name of Dora J. Friona.
