Doris J. Maietta, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Campisano) Giaquinto.

Doris was raised in the Town of Niagara and attended local schools. She married her beloved husband, Lawrence E. Maietta on March 3, 1957 in Kobe, Japan while he was serving with the United States Army. Mr. Maietta passed away on March 22, 1972.

Doris was employed at Niagara University as a housekeeper for 22 years prior to her retirement in 1997. She was an avid bingo player and bowler, and enjoyed completing word puzzles. She also loved watching the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Sabres. Above all, Doris especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children, Lawrence F. (Virginia) Maietta, Theodore (Holly) Maietta, Jude Maietta and Madeline (Marshall) Rowan; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Kristen, Paul, Patrick, and Jesse Maietta, and Matthew and Christopher Rowan; one great-granddaughter, Camryn Maietta-Hawes; her brother, Theodore (Judy) Giaquinto; as well as many nieces, nephews, and her special cousin, Audrey Stamm. She was predeceased by her siblings, Marie (late Daniel) Guariglia, Josephine (late Nick) Nickoloff and Louis (Marguerite) Giaquinto.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Private funeral services will be held for Doris' family. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
