Doris L. (Lantz) Mangione, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday October 15, 2009 at her residence. Born in North Point, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Alice F. (Travis) Lantz.

Doris attended schools in Pennsylvania and came to the Niagara Falls area in the 1950's. On June 1, 1959 she married August A. 'Gus' Mangione. Mr. Mangione predeceased her on June 6, 1997. Doris worked as a self employed beautician in Niagara Falls. She also cooked and prepared food for local organizations to help the disabled. Doris later worked as the head banquet waitress at the Comfort Inn in downtown Niagara Falls until her retirement. Doris loved cooking and had a passion for animals, especially her dogs and cats.

Mrs. Mangione is survived by her two children, Christopher Mangione of California and Maria (Albert) Allen of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Gia Mangione, Trinity Mangione, Nicola Allen and Albert Allen, three sisters, Patricia (Randy Mangione) DeRosa of Leroy, NY; Mary (John) Noerr, Eileen (Lenny) Jesensky of Arizona, one step-sister Anna Virginia Lantz Brown and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Bertha Lantz Bowser and Bonnie Jean Lantz, and three brothers, Bob (Famico) Lantz, Howard Lantz, Harry "Jigs" (Helen) Lantz, one sister Hazel (Al) Dalke and one step-brother John Lantz. Doris's children wish to extend a loving thank you to her special niece Josephine Erkiletian for her love and generosity.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday October 19th at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
