December 17, 2020
Dorothy A. DePalma, 89, passed away quietly on December 17, 2020 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy (Parks) Corrigan.
Dorothy graduated from St. Rose Academy in Carbondale and came to reside in Niagara Falls in the early 1950s. She was employed by the Como Restaurant for 49 years and loved meeting and talking to the many customers, many of whom got to enjoy one of her delicious cakes.
Dorothy enjoyed baking, especially for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a woman of great strength in both her faith and family. She was proud to be a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Parish (Mt. Carmel site), having been one of the first female Eucharistic Ministers in Western New York.
Dorothy enjoyed to bake, sew and especially go shopping. She also played the piano and loved to sing. Her greatest joy in life, was spending time with her family, whether it be as a family gathering or attending a grandchild or great grandchild's school function. She was so proud of each of them. Those memories will always be in our hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Michael) Rotella and her son, Stephen (Diane Clark) DePalma; grandchildren, Stephen (Danielle) DePalma, Bryan (Ashley) Rotella, Eric (Cassie Guy) Rotella and Lindsay Rotella, as well as several great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.
