Dorothy M. Merino, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Lucia (DeStefano) Merino.

Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was employed at Union Carbide in the purchasing department for many years until her retirement in 1984.

Dorothy was a lifelong, faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Union Carbide Retiree Club. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and bowling, but above all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her 14 nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Mary (late Andrew) Spacone, Edith Merino, W. Nicholas Merino, Anna Merino, Josephine (late Emedio) Rosatone, Louis (late Mary) Marino, Elizabeth (late James) Zito, Victor (late Josephine) Merino, R. Robert (late Helen) Merino, John (late Yolanda) Merino and Austin Merino

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 10 ^th at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club, 725 17 ^th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
