A Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Dorothy R. (Schafer) Keil, 83, of Wheatfield, NY passed away on Saturday January 30, 2010 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, after a lengthy illness, while under the care of Niagara Hospice and her loving family. Born and educated in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Edith (Henning) Schafer.

Dorothy was a resident of the Town of Wheatfield for over forty years. She loved to travel and enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing cards and musicals. Most importantly, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family.
Mrs Keil was predeceased by her husband of forty two years, Donald B. Keil, on April 8, 2009, and her son Paul (Rose Ann of Amherst, NY) O'Mara in March 2008.

Dorothy is survived by her four children Debra Keil (Ronald) Biggs of Town of Niagara, NY, Ronald J. (Francine) O'Mara of Wheatfield, NY, Robert (Betty) O'Mara of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Judy O'Mara (Robert) Daves of Central Point, OR; nine grandchildren Amanda Graffius, Jonathan Graffius both of the Town of Niagara, NY, Katherine O'Mara (Dennis) Darrow of Tonawanda, NY, Steven (Angela) O'Mara of Lockport, NY, Kelli O'Mara of Amherst, NY, Scott O'Mara, Timothy O'Mara both of Panama City, FL, Bobby (Renee) O'Mara of Woodbridge, VA, and Teresa Daves (Timothy) Hardesty of Grants Pass, OR; nine great-grandchildren; her brother Jerry (Alice) Schafer of Sparks, NV, two nieces, a great-niece and a great-nephew.

Friends may call Sunday January 31, 2010 from 3 – 7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NAIGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 7:00 PM with Chaplain Robert Fink, officiating.
