Douglas Chiponis, 67, of Lockport, NY, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Richard 'Dick' and Stella (Bos) Chiponis. On May 3, 1986, he married his beloved wife, Laureen (Curtis) Chiponis, at the former Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls. They moved to Lockport, NY where they raised their two children, Michael and John.

Doug was a graduate of Bishop Duffy High School and obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo. He was employed as a Medical Lab Technician at Lockport Memorial Hospital for many years prior to his retirement in 2021.

Doug was a true history buff and instilled the importance of history in his family. He also enjoyed fine-scale modeling and attending airshows with his boys.

Doug is survived by his adored children, Michael Chiponis and John (Sarah) Chiponis; his brother Gregg (late Barbara) Chiponis, as well as his loving extended family and friends. Doug was predeceased by his wife, Laureen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Doug and Laureen's Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 24 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
