Obituary

Earldeene B. (Hanna) House, 100, of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice and Samuel Hanna.

Earldeene was a graduate of local schools in Niagara Falls, Ontario, earning a secretarial degree before beginning a long and dedicated career with the North American Cyanamid Company. On August 7, 1943, she married the love of her life, John R. "Jack" House, who predeceased her on April 17, 2017.

A devoted mother, Earldeene is survived by her children: Michael (Marie) House, Maribeth (Joseph) Scullion, Christine (Richard) Elia, Karen (Thomas) Hogan, Melanie (James) Cutini, and was predeceased by her daughter Kelly Jean House. She is also survived by many cherished grandchildren, adored great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Earldeene lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. While residing in Lewiston, she was an active member of St. Peter R.C. Church, serving as president of the Altar and Rosary Society. After moving to Youngstown in the 1970s, she continued her faith journey as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernard's R.C. Church. Her love of Bridge brought her joy and lasting friendships through her monthly Bridge Club gatherings.

She and Jack shared a deep love for their home, affectionately known to the family as Foxpoint. Together, they were longtime members of White Oaks Tennis Club, the Niagara Club, and the Niagara Falls Country Club, and spent treasured summers at their cottage in Picton, Ontario.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Earldeene was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Dumas and brother, Wilmer Hanna. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Earldeene's devoted friends for their unwavering love and support throughout her life.
