Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
Edward Coram, 86, of Lewiston, NY passed away on April 13, 2013 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Harry Coram and Frances (Hill) Coram Spuller; and stepson of the late Earl Spuller.
Ed attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. During World War II he served in the United States Navy as a Seamen First Class from September of 1944 until his honorable discharge in July of 1946. He was the recipient of a Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Medal. On April 26, 1952 he married Marie Anna May at the former Forest Avenue Church of God in Niagara Falls, NY. He predeceased Marie just prior to their 61st wedding anniversary.
Mr. Coram was employed as an electrician at the E.I. DuPont in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement in 1985 after 35 years of employment. Following his retirement, he continued to stay active by working as a bus driver for Opportunities Unlimited and the Niagara-Wheatfield School District. He taught the Sunday School Program at the former Forest Avenue Church of God and at the St. James United Methodist Church located in Niagara Falls, NY. Ed also taught electrical classes at the Orleans Niagara Boces. He took part in various electrical side jobs, in which he was fortunate enough to gain many social relationships from. He enjoyed performing magic tricks, studying and reading. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife Marie, Edward is survived by his three children, Lynn Marie Cloutier of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tom Coram of Niagara Falls, NY and Daniel (Linda) Coram of Lewiston, NY; five grandchildren, Robert Jason (Rachel) Cloutier, Simeon Edward Cloutier, Emily Marie (Sebastian) Serrano, Ryan Daniel Coram, and Nicole Anne Coram and one great-grandchild Sophie Lynn Cloutier. He is also survived by three nephews, one niece and his step sisters and brothers. Ed was predeceased by his brothers Walter (Muriel) Coram and Ernest (late Florence) Coram.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday June 14th at 11:00 A.M. in St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Daryl Bennett officiating, and military honors to conclude the services. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery Lewiston, NY was held at the convenience of the family.
