Edward A. 'Ed' Ventry, Sr., 68, passed away on November 16, 2018 in Camden, South Carolina.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Parker) Ventry.

Ed attended local schools and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield.  He was employed as a machine operator with the Operating Engineers Local #463, and independently owned and operated Ed's Excavation Services.  He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local for 23 years, and during that time he served as a guard on the executive board.  In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the 3F Club and LaSalle Sportsman Club.  In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time on his horse and cow farm.

Ed is survived by his children, Amy R. Ventry-Smith, Edward A. Ventry, Jr. and Barbara A. Ventry; his grandchildren, Eva Marie, Vance, Jacob and Jordan; his siblings, Barbara (James) Owen and John (Sue) Ventry; his former spouses, Rene Zufato and Diane Ventry, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his son, Albert 'Al' V. Ventry.

There was no prior visitation. Ed is with Jesus who led him home to eternal life – Resting in Peace. Ed's Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 11 at 10 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 or to the American Diabetes Association, 4955 N.
