Eileen T. Burkett, 67, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Niagara Falls, Eileen was the beloved daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Focazio) Fitzpatrick. She graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School before earning her Associate's Degree from Niagara County Community College and her Bachelor's Degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

After beginning her career in the fashion industry in New York City, Eileen returned home to Niagara Falls, where she served as the manager of Calvin Klein at the Fashion Outlets. While raising her family and pursuing her professional goals, she continued her education and earned her Master's Degree from Niagara University. Eileen then dedicated 21 years to the Niagara Falls Board of Education, beginning at Niagara Middle School and Gaskill Preparatory School. Her passion for helping others and commitment to the community eventually led her to the district's Central Office, where she remained until her retirement in 2021.

Eileen was truly the life of the party and a social butterfly. Her infectious laughter, radiant smile, and joyful spirit lit up every room she entered. Whether she was dancing, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, she had a remarkable gift for creating unforgettable memories. She loved spending time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, relaxing at the beach, and embracing life. Eileen was also an avid fan of Kenny Chesney.

Known for her impeccable sense of style and fashionable flair, Eileen carried herself with grace and warmth. Above all else, Eileen cherished her family, especially her two children, Troy and Hunter, who were her pride and joy. Following the passing of her mother, she lovingly stepped into the role of family matriarch, keeping her family connected through her strength and love. Her devotion to those she held dear was evident in everything she did, and the bonds she nurtured will remain a lasting legacy. Eileen's beautiful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her children, Troy and Hunter Burkett, Eileen is also survived by four siblings, Joan Denton, Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitzpatrick and Trudy Trainor; her longtime companion, John Walters; her nieces and nephews, Dylan and Ashley Trainor, Salem, Morgan, and Stephen Denton, and Jack Fitzpatrick, as well as many cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by four siblings, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Maureen Fitzpatrick, Denise Fitzpatrick and Joseph Fitzpatrick.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Eileen’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30 at 10:00 AM in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
