Elaine R. Baia, 81, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021, at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Sophie (Wizer) Sorour.

Elaine graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  On June 11, 1967, she married Thomas A. Baia.  Elaine obtained her Associate's degree from NCCC, an Accounting degree from Buffalo State College and received her Master's Degree in Education from Niagara University.  She was employed as a Substitute Teacher with the Niagara Falls School District for 20 years.

Elaine was a member of the Lewiston Service Guild and assisted her husband in the Kiwanis Club in Lewiston.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and antiquing.  Above all, her life centered around her beloved husband, sons and grandsons.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Elaine is survived by her two sons, Thomas (TJ) Baia and Joey Baia; three grandsons, Thomas Anthony Baia, Mickey Baia and Patrick Baia as well as several cousins.  She was predeceased by her brother James Sorour.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 19 ^th from 3 - 7 P.M. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1073 Saunders Settlement Rd, Niagara Falls, NY, 14305 where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM.  Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  Trisagion Prayers will be begin on Friday at 6:30 PM.  Memorial offerings may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.  Please visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
