On May 13, 2019, we said good-bye to our Mom, Eleanor L. (Ranaletti) Baran.
She was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, New York, until the age of 85 and then resided with her daughters. Eleanor passed away in San Antonio, Texas, in the Loving home of her daughter, Barbara and son-in-law, Ernie. She was also under the loving care of her devoted caregiver, Linda. Up until the age of 95, she made an annual trip back to Niagara Falls. To Eleanor there was "No place like HOME"........Niagara Falls, New York. She was known as "Princess" by her husband and "Randy" by her friends and affectionately, Grandma Randy and Aunt Randy by family.
Eleanor retired at the age of 79 in June 2002 from the Niagara Falls Area Chamber of Commerce as Executive Secretary to the late Charles (Chuck) Steiner. To quote Eleanor...."I retired after a wonderful and educational career from age 13 to 79". Most important to Eleanor were the many friends she made with whom she maintained lifelong relationships. She met her devoted husband, Bill, while working as secretary to the President of Stauffer Chemical Company.
Her long work history began at the age of 13, sewing after school for her Aunt Mae and Uncle Max Manenty in their Reed Factory and working also after school at the Deveaux Candy Shop. She held positions at Montgomery Ward, Bell Aircraft and Moore Business Forms.
She is predeceased by her husband, William Baran, parents, Gladys (DiRamio) and Anthony Ranaletti; her brother Andrew Ranaletti; sisters-in-law, Josephine (Capizzi) Ranaletti, Gladys (Bak) Baran and Laura Baran; brothers-in-law Frank Baran and Marion Baran; niece Andrea L. Ranaletti and many treasured lifelong friends.
She is survived by her daughters Nanette F. (Baran) Roffle and husband Mark J. Roffle, Barbara J. (Baran) Centeno and husband Ernest J Centeno and nephew Paul Ranaletti and wife Sandy (Tardibono) Ranaletti, grandchildren; Kelly (Roffle) Bongratz and husband Benjamin and Brian Roffle and wife Mindy and Ernie Centeno, Jr. Also survived by great grandchildren; Maxwell, Jaxon, Zackary Bongratz, Sam Roffle, Jasmine Casarez, D'angelo and Yesenia Centeno.
Traveling between her daughters' homes enabled Eleanor to spend time with her most prized possessions: her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family, adding to her lifelong cherished memories. She is also survived by several cousins, great nieces and great nephews and many dear friends.
Also, the family will be forever grateful for the faithful, loving care provided by her caregiver, Linda, who became like a daughter to Eleanor. Through her care our family witnessed true Love!
They are also thankful for the loving assistance provided by Hospice.
