Eleanor "El" (Grimley) Torcasio, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Sunday February 20, 2011 at N. F. Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Saltcoats, Scotland she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Lennox) Grimley. She was predeceased by her husband of thirty five years, Savario Torcasio.
Eleanor came to Niagara Falls at the age of eleven with her family and attended local schools. In her thirties she lived in California and Las Vegas, NV until returning to the Niagara Falls area. She was employed at the former Kimberly Clark Corp in Niagara Falls and later at Linen Banks in Lewiston, NY. El also worked as an office manager at the original Adelphia Cable Co. in Niagara Falls and as a banquet manager at the Holiday Inn on Grand Island, NY. During her children's early years she volunteered at their schools. She enjoyed shopping and going for tea with her daughter Lauren Ann. Above all, Eleanor's life was centered on her children and grandchildren and she truly missed her beloved son Vinny whom she thought of daily since his death in 1983.
Eleanor is survived by two children Samuel L. 'Sam'(Anne) Torcasio of Cheektowaga, NY and Lauren Ann (John) Frosolone of Youngstown, NY and was predeceased by her son Vincent Torcasio. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Samuel A. Torcasio, Vincent M. Torcasio, Jillian L. Frosolone, Ashlie M. Torcasio, Jordyn M. Torcasio, Jaclyn J. Frosolone, Mary G. Lichtenberger and Sarah A. Lichtenberger, two sisters and four brothers Annette (Joe) Genttillucci of Aiken, SC; Daniel (Joanne) Grimley of Santa Clara, CA; Margaret Kemp, Andy (Linda) Grimley, Robert Grimley and Stephen (Yolanda) Grimley all of San Jose, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by one grandson Mark R. Lichtenberger.
There will be no prior visitation. A private memorial service and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY were held at the convenience of the family.
