Elenore M. "Ellie" Marcolini, of Wheatfield, NY met a peaceful death surrounded by her loved ones. She passed away on Friday June 26, 2015 where she joined her husband Paul (July 11, 2008) and daughter Kathy Palumbo (April 10, 2009). Born on October 29, 1932, Ellie was the youngest daughter of the late Benjamin and Teresa (Zipp) Martin. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1950 and took many classes at Niagara County Community College and Niagara University.
Ellie was Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine for over 37 years. She was the Lewiston Correspondent for the Niagara Gazette for many years and a creative writing teacher. She was a free lance writer and continued to write from the age of 12 until her death. She held every office in the Association of Professional Women Writers. She and her husband Paul were ballroom dancers and received many trophies on the over 30 cruises they took. They were a charitable couple throughout their lifetime and were known for their generosity in many ways.
Mrs. Marcolini is survived by her three children, Paulette (James) Danni of West Palm Beach, FL, Kim (Jan) Abrams of Wheatfield, NY and Jamie (Katherine) Marcolini of Pendleton, NY, 10 grandchildren, Shana Karch Dutkewych, Dr. Joelle Elyse Taylor, Deena Karch Sobel, Jesse Gooch, Serena Mullen, Eric Palumbo, Christopher Palumbo , Courtney Marcolini, Timothy Marcolini, and Chatham Marcolini; 11 great-grandchildren, her sister Anne Gonzales of Niagara Falls, NY as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by 2 sisters, Marguerite Jacob and Louise Janese.
As a final tribute, Ellie's remains were donated to the Anatomical Gift Program of the University of Buffalo Medical School in honor of her granddaughter, Dr. Joelle Elyse Taylor.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday June 29th at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stephen Collins officiating.
