Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Delekta, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on September 16, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Legora (Cawley) Martin.

Elizabeth graduated from St. Mary's in Scranton, PA with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and moved to Niagara Falls in 1953 with her first husband, Henry William Nichols, who predeceased her in 1976.  Betty was employed as a Registered Nurse for 20 years at Mt. St.  Mary's Hospital, followed by 35 years at Niagara University, primarily as Head of Health Services and later as a Dorm monitor.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, going shopping and playing bingo weekly at SVDP Parish and other local bingo halls.  Above all, Betty loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband of 41 years, William T. Delekta; her children, Deborah (Herman) Nichols-Smith, Donna (Michael) Reinbolt, Mark (Kim) Nichols, Cindy Sannicola, Jennifer (Steven) Nichols Arnone and Melissa (Nick) Colosi; her grandchildren, Theresa (Tony), Andrea, David, Cori (Andy), Leah, SJ, Mark, Nicolas and Hunter; great grandchildren, Anthony, Vinny and Gianna, sisters-in-law, Lorraine (late George) York and Debbie (late Glenn) Hansen, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was predeceased by her six siblings and her great-grandson, Kyle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21 from 3 - 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10 AM followed by Elizabeth's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.  Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Leo's Church or to the Niagara University Health Center.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
