Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother

Elizabeth R. "Liz" (Gaetano) Demico, 96, of Lockport, NY formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Liz was the daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Capicotta) Gaetano.  She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Anthony L. "Tony" Demico.

Liz attended local schools in Niagara Falls, NY.  On July 3, 1946, she married Anthony "Tony" Demico, the love of her life, at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, NY.  Tony and Liz were the perfect example of two souls becoming one and showing all who knew them what love really was.

Liz was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education for 26 years as a secretary at Hyde Park School where she made lifelong friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and music, but most of all, spent her life loving her family and making their world a better place. Always helping others through their difficulties, while at the same time experiencing her own, she was known for the hopeful phrase, "This too shall pass."  Her strong faith helped her through the hardest of times.

There was and always will be a special place in her heart for her grandson, Nikhil, and life became more wonderful with the arrival of her great grandchildren, Lily and Penelope, whom she loved dearly.

Liz is survived by her two children Joanne (Dr. Brijendra) Gupta of Lockport, NY and John A. (Deborah) Demico of Las Vegas, NV; one grandson, Dr. Nikhil (Courtney) Gupta of Livonia, MI and two great grandchildren, Lily and Penelope Gupta.  She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law Josephine (late Vincent) Cerrone in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Benjamin (late Florence) Gaetano and Edward "Bull" (late Virginia) Gaetano and one sister, Rose (late George) Riscili.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private services will be held by the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905.
