Elizabeth M. (Perno) Galante, 90, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday December 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Maria (Critelli) Perno.

Elizabeth attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. On June 24, 1946 she married Marino M. Galante at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Galante predeceased her on November 29, 2002. Elizabeth was a longtime active member of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls and the senior society at the John Duke Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with friends, cooking, baking and gardening. Elizabeth also liked animals, especially her dogs and cats.

Mrs. Galante is survived by three children Janice (Ronald) Bochenek of Lackawanna, NY; Patricia A. Galante of Rochester, NY and Michael P. (Cathy) Galante of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren Ronald Bochenek, Denise (Peter) Moraca, Mathew Galante and Daniel Galante, one brother Frank (late Edith) (late Elizabeth) Perno of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Josephine (late Leo) Bongiovanni of Lancaster, CA and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers Angelo (late Jennie) Perno, Thomas (late Bonnie) Muraco and Louis (Jennie of Niagara Falls, NY) Muraco and three sisters Mary (late Joseph) Paonessa, Bessie (late Alfred) DiGregorio and Frances (late Angelo) Chiccone.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL,2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday December 9th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are graciously declined.
