Elizabeth "Betty" J. Polegato, 76, passed away suddenly yet peacefully surrounded by her family at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario she was the daughter of the late William and Jane McDowell. She is survived by her loving companion of thirty two years, Dominic Bombaci. She was the beloved mother of Gary Polegato & his wife Karen, Nancy Didemus & her husband Ted, Gina Pantelich & her husband Alex, and Elizabeth(Liz) Polegato and will be sadly missed by her four grandchildren Brett Didemus, Jillian Didemus, Kyle Pantelich & Jay Pantelich. Elizabeth is also survived by two sisters Rachael (late Walter) Baker and Margaret (late Don) Bessey. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday April 7th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 – 19th Street, Niagara Falls, New York (right turn off of Pine Ave. eastbound between Ferry Ave. and Niagara St.). A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 10th at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Scapular Roman Catholic Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 2345 Yonge Street, Suite 900, Toronto, Ontario M4P 2E5 would be appreciated.
