Elizabeth Weeden, 72, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at O.L.P Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born in Pensacola, Florida she was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Bessie Dickerson, who loved her dearly. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie and Ethal Dickerson.
Elizabeth attended local schools in Florida and moved to the Niagara Falls area as a teenager with her family. She married William Weeden in Niagara Falls, NY, and was later predeceased by him. Elizabeth was employed as a school bus aid for the Niagara Falls School District for many years until her retirement.
Ms. Weeden was a longtime, active member at the Church of Pure and Heart in Niagara Falls. She also enjoyed cooking and loved the shop. Above all, Elizabeth was blessed with a large family who will love and miss her dearly.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Cassandra Weeden-Cooper, Jeffery Weeden, Carletta Weeden, Jimmy Taylor, Angelique Weeden, Angelica Weeden and was predeceased by one son Robert Weeden. She is also survived by her grandchildren Latoya Cooper, Latasha Rivers, Jeremy Weeden, Sloane Rich, Lorenzo Adams, Robert Weeden, Jr., James Griggs, Coreceus Hicks, Aliya Torres, Kimera Bailey, Angel Moss, Cymiah Taylor, Quamir Taylor, Sieanna Dov and Ijanae Taylor; brothers and sisters, T.S. McClain, Louise Caldwell, Walter Henry Dickerson, General Dickerson, Emma Jean Dickerson, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings U.L. Dickerson, Estella Terry, Willie Dickerson, J.D. Dickerson, Lily May Whitlaw and Fannie M. Lawrence.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30th from 12 – 2 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M with Elder Vanessa Scott officiating. Interment will be on Friday, July 1st at 11 A.M. at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
