Elizabeth E. Wygonik, 94, passed away Thursday July 14, 2011 while under the loving care of Gary and Margaret Guiliani at their Town of Niagara residence, where she had resided since 2001. Liz, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Niagara, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Mickoloj "Mike" and Josephine (Mikolojezyk) Wygonik.

Liz moved to Chicago in the early 1940's where she worked until the mid-1950's, before moving to Niagara Falls, NY. Upon arriving in Niagara Falls, she was employed at Great Lakes Carbon until her retirement as a payroll accountant in the early 1980's. Liz was an avid golfer and bowler, and helped her bowling team at Great Lakes win many trophies and accolades in their league. She also travelled extensively and enjoyed dancing. Liz was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, Reunited Seniors, and Bereavement Committee, all at St. Leo's Parish in Niagara Falls.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother: Victoria (late Peter) Guiliani of Rochester, NY, Walter (late Hilda) Wygonik of Niagara Falls, NY, and Dorothy (late George) Hutcheson of Town of Niagara, NY. She was predeceased by two sisters Helen (late Julius) Guiliani, Stella (late John) Kollie and one brother Thaddeus (Steffie of Town of Niagara, NY) Wygonik. She was the dear aunt of Gary (Margaret) Guiliani, Leon (Jean) Guiliani, Mike (Jean) Guiliani, Darlene (late Bob) Brovata, Carol (late Ted Guiliani) (Silvas) Harry, Karen (late Harold) Reimer, Sandy (Rick) Brown, Terry (Nina) Kollie, Susie (Neil) Foss, Carol (Paul) Borelli, George (Linda) Hutcheson, Ronald (Janine) Hutcheson, Marie (Sam) Reele, Michael Wygonik, Cathy (Steve) Lewis, and the late Jeff Hutcheson. Liz is also survived by legions of great-nieces, great nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4 – 9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday July 19th at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson, officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
