Ellen (Nicklefork) Primerano, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away suddenly on Sunday November 24, 2013 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Nicklefork.
Ellen worked on her family farm along with her entire family raising an assortment of livestock and acres of fresh fruits, vegetables and grains. She worked very hard at a young age and never stopped. During her teenage years, her family left Regina and relocated to Welland, Ontario where she met her husband Edward Primerano. She was employed as a plant operator at the Cotton Mill in Welland, Ontario, Canada. In 1964 she and her husband moved to Niagara Falls with their family. Mr. Primerano predeceased her in 1997.
Ellen was famous for her baking and cooking. Her Sunday dinners were always admired by family and friends and her children's and grandchildren's friends always knew they would leave the home with a full stomach. The smell when you entered her home was always amazing and inviting. Ellen also enjoyed bingo, canning, shopping and gardening. She also had a passion for roses and bought anything with a rose on it, from a blouse to a coffee mug. Ellen spoke four different languages fluently and could play any instrument from the accordion to the electric guitar.
Ellen is survived by four children Charles (Wendy Kovacs) Primerano of Niagara Falls, NY; Anna (late Monte) Miller of Gastonia, NC; Sandie Primerano of York, SC; Dino Primerano of Virginia Beach, VA and was predeceased by one son Henry Primerano in August 2013. She is also survived by twenty one grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. Ellen had four brothers Harry, Nick, John and Pete Nicklefork and two sisters Pauline Stefanyk and Mary Haluska all of Canada and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday November 30th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
