Elliott C. Donoughe, 72, of Niagara Falls, NY entered into rest on Sunday September 30, 2012 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Altoona, PA he was the son of the late Anthony and Christine (McMahon) Donoughe and stepson of Helen Donoughe of New York.
Elliott lived at Spallino Towers with his wife, Dove (Baker) Donoughe, for four years before moving to the Niagara Geriatrics Center in Niagara Falls, NY. He was employed at Buffalo Pumps in North Tonawanda, NY years ago and was a lifetime member of the Frontier Volunteer Fire Company in Wheatfield, NY. He was also a member of the South End Golden Age Club and the Spallino Towers Tenant Organization. Ellie volunteered for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P) as a singer and the Blind Association of WNY. Elliott's greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren and he especially enjoyed taking them for walks.
In addition to his wife of thirty two years, Ellie is survived by two sons Corey Donoughe of West Seneca, NY and Mark Donoughe of Niagara Falls, NY; one daughter Amy (John) Mateer of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren Melanie Thompson, Ben Donoughe, Hailey Mateer, Carley Mateer, Baby Elliott Stafford and was predeceased by one granddaughter Merrissa Donoughe-Rafter. He is also survived by five sisters and three brothers Rose Reece of Niagara Falls, NY; Anna Costanzo of Arizona, Marilyn Hall of Florida, Donald (Judy) Donoughe, Harold (Janet) Donoughe both of Niagara Falls, NY; Mary Ellen Jackson of Florida, Robert (Mary) Donoughe and Joan Ferito both of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by two brothers Anthony "Patrick" Donoughe, Mark Donoughel and one sister Kathleen Gemati.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday October 4th from 4 - 8 PM at the Spallino Towers, 720 10th Street Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Mr. Donoughe requested his body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo and Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS) for medical research. Flowers may be sent to Spallino Towers.
