Elwood Thomas "Tom" Buck, age 72, of Niagara Falls NY, passed away on February 21, 2014 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort SC, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Elwood and Hazel (Hoover) Buck.



Tom attended Niagara Wheatfield High School, served 4 years in the United States Army, and worked at Great Lakes Carbon and in maintenance at Niagara Wheatfield High School. He also ran Buck's Gun Shop for 23 years in Niagara Falls. On August 30, 1962 he married Elisabeth (Chuimert) Buck in Saint-Dizier, France. He is survived by his wife Elisabeth, his three brothers, Samuel L. Buck of Niagara Falls, Woodrow Wilson (Marie) Buck and Ralph Evans Buck , of Kingsport, TN; his three children, Valerie (William) Balbo and Steven Buck of Niagara Falls, NY, and SgtMaj Gary (Tami) Buck of Beaufort, SC; nine grandchildren Denise Martinez, Emmett Buck, Gary (Cassie) Demonico, Elwood (Andrioni) Buck, Elisabeth Buck, Lucien Buck, Albert Buck, Irvin Buck, Ninette (Brad) Schuebert, and Ian Lawrence. He was also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.



Tom will be remembered by many. Known as "Grandpa Buck", he loved to attend the many wrestling matches, baseball and football games of his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.



Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28th at 12 Noon with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment will follow in All Saints Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are graciously declined; in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
