Emma Garijanian, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Monday June 15, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late David and Noyamzar "Norma" (Ballozian) Garijanian.
Emma was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for over forty years at the former Simon Oil, later known as Schrack Oil in Niagara Falls, NY. Emma was a fifty two year member of the Armenian Relief Society and longtime member of St. Hagop Armenian Church in Niagara Falls. In her leisure she enjoyed bowling, but most importantly was dedicated to the care of her loving family.
Survivors include her sister, Arshalous Garijanian of Niagara Falls, NY; two nephews, Mark (Cathy) Garijanian of Roswell, GA, Peter Garijanian of Atlanta, GA; a niece Lisa (Steve) Flinchum of Niagara Falls, NY and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Emma was also predeceased by two brothers, Arsen (Sada of Lewiston, NY) Garijanian and Ohannes Garijanian.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday June 19th at 10 a.m. in St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, 322 Ninth Street Niagara Falls, NY with Very Reverend Keghart Kosbakian officiating, EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church.
