Emma Jean Hunt, 74, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at her residence. Born in Andalusia, AL, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Bessie E. (Johnson) Dickerson; and the beloved wife of the late Wilbur L. Hunt whom she married on June 11, 1966.

Emma Jean moved to Niagara Falls with her family as a child and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  She was employed by Harrison-Radiator in Lockport, NY for many years prior to her retirement.

Emma Jean centered her life around her family and especially loved family gatherings. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting and tending to her garden.

Emma Jean is survived by her daughter, Shalonda (Leonard) Carter; her grandchildren, Brandi Hunt, La'Kia Carter; one brother, General Dickerson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she predeceased by her cherished grandson, Brandon "Mookie" Hunt, her brother, Willie Dickerson, Jr. and her sister, Elizabeth Weeden.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 4 from 11 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
