Erminia "Sally" (Carbone) Gualtieri, 99, of Niagara Falls, NY,
passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Aprigliano Cosenza, Calabria, Italy she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Serafina (Martini) Carbone.

Sally, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, immigrated Niagara Falls, NY with her family in 1926. She attended local schools, and married Joseph Gualtieri at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY on May 23, 1940. Mr. Gualtieri predeceased her on August 5, 1992 after fifty two years of marriage. Sally was a licensed beautician and together with her husband owned and operated the Pine Crest Beauty Shop on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls. She was a longtime active member of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls as well as their Madonna Del Soccorso Society. For over 20 years, Sally also was a volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. But most of all, Sally's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Gualtieri is survived by her two children, Rosalie (late John) Sarno of Langston, AL and Anthony J. (Beverly) Gualtieri of Lewiston, NY; five grandchildren, Amy Sarno, Danielle Roach, Joseph A. Gualtieri, Matthew D. Gualtieri and Jeannette M. Gualtieri; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three siblings, Stanley (late Helen) Carbone, Josephine (late Phillip) Masters and Oscar (Lilian) Carbone.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday, August 8th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
