Ernest “Ernie” P. Ubriaco, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on March 18, 2026 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Leonardo and Filomena (Azzmature) Ubriaco.

Ernie attended local schools and spent nine years working on the railroad before continuing his career in construction with Laborers Local 91. He also owned and operated several pizzerias throughout Niagara Falls. He enjoyed buying and selling jewelry at flea markets and traveling to Las Vegas with Rose to visit family. Ernie was known for his sharp wit and wicked sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving companion of 58 years, Rose S. Kuruziak; his sister, Angie (late Jimmie) Meogrossi; his in‑laws, John (Doris) Kuruziak, Mary (Paul) Antoniolli, and Jean (late Roland) Schaffer; and dear friends Marge (late “Babe” Lewis) Rotella and Bob Lake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Ralph (late Vivian) Ubriaco, Gene (late Eleanor) Ubriaco, and Nick (late Mary) Kuruziak.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 1 – 3 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Entombment will take place privately in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Please visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
