Ernest P. Fera, Sr., 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16 ^th , 2018 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elmirinda "Millie" (D'Ambrosio) Fera.

Ernie was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in 1946. He married his beloved wife, Josephine F. "Josi" (Giannini) Fera on her birthday, November 24, 1949, at St. Joseph's Church. They celebrated 56 loving years together prior to her passing on May 15, 2006.

Ernie was employed as a carpenter for various construction companies locally and retired from the City of Niagara Falls trades department on January 1, 1992. He was a Devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minster and choir member.

Ernie was also a longtime member of the I.S.D.A Cataract Lodge, Volare Lodge and the Carpenter's Local Union. In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas for the past 35 years, tending to his garden and going to OTB.

Above all, Ernie loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by a community who loved him dearly.

Mr. Fera is survived by his children, Claudia A. (Robert "Butch") Kazeangin, Marsha (Al) Piccirillo, and Ernie P. (Debbie) Fera, Jr.; three grandchildren, Damian Z. Kazeangin, Aaron F. (Sarah) Piccirillo and Seth A. (Kelly) Piccirillo; four great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Emilia, Tessa and Nola Piccirillo; his twin brother Robert (Toni) Fera, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother Anthony (late Elvira) Fera, Sr.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 19 ^th from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 11:15 A.M., followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27 ^th Street and Independence Avenue. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House or the Holy Family Parish Restoration Fund.
