Ernest P. Oliverio, Jr., 66, of Grand Island, NY died on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Antonette (Quarantillo) Oliverio of West Seneca, NY and the late Ernest P. Oliverio, Sr.
Ernest was a lifelong resident of the Western New York area. He attended local schools including the University of Buffalo where he earned BA in Science and MBA in Business. In 1981 he married Nicolina "Nicki" (Montalbo) Oliverio in Niagara Falls, NY. Ernest was a plant manager at the former Great Lakes Carbon in Niagara Falls for thirty eight years and then worked at Cesiwid Corp. also in Niagara Falls for six years until retiring at the age of 65. Following his retirement, he continued working part time for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission. Ernest was an avid golfer and he also enjoyed attending his children's sporting events to watch them play.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Oliverio is survived by two children; Rosanne Oliverio of Boynton Beach, FL and Joseph Oliverio of Grand Island, NY; two brothers Billy P. Oliverio and Daniel C. (Lennae) Oliverio both of Buffalo, NY; his brother-in-law Victor (Susan) Montalbo of Wheatfield, NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 11th at Old St. Stephen's Church 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY with Rev. Paul Nogaro, O.M.N. officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Grand Island, NY.
