Esther (Previte) Tweedie, 82, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Martha (Borgese) Previte.

Esther was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1952. On May 21, 1955 she married John Tweedie in Niagara Falls, NY. Esther was employed as a receptionist and dining room cashier at Stella Niagara Education Park in Lewiston, and also worked in the office of the family owned Certo Brothers Distributing Co. Esther was an avid golfer and member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club in Youngstown, NY for thirty years where chaired the Women's Nine Hole Golf League and coordinated several of their New Year's Eve parties.

She was also an active member and coordinator of various other organizations. These included serving as president and treasurer for thirty years of the Lewiston Service Guild, being the coordinator of the Lewiston Kiwanis Club's Peach Blossom and Peach Fuzz contest for twenty years and serving as a volunteer for the Mt. St. Mary's Hospital St. Francis Guild. But most dear to Esther was the honor of being a member of the "7 Special Ladies Club" which she held very close to her heart.

Esther enjoyed square dancing and traveled regularly with a square dancing group to various places. She was also a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.

In addition to her husband of sixty years, Esther is survived by four children, William (Rita) Tweedie, Karen (Brian) Oakley both of Lewiston, NY, Kim Fitch (Paul) of Niagara Falls, NY and Robert (Donna) Tweedie of Lewiston, NY; eight grandchildren, Ian (Alison) Tweedie, Kelly Tweedie, Anne Petrozzi, Katherine Petrozzi, Braiden Oakley, Tyler Oakley, Taylor Fitch and Cameron Fitch; one sister, Alberta (James) Bodecker of Williamsville, NY; her aunt and uncle Carmella 'Connie' Borgese and Frank (Jenny) Borgese both of Niagara Falls, NY; her brother-in-law Hugh (Eileen) Tweedie of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Peter (Elaine of Niagara Falls, NY) Previte and Anthony (Ellen of Amherst, NY) Previte.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday August 21st at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Rev. David LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
