Eugene Fortuna, 69, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away on Monday January 3, 2011 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Stanley and Lottie (Matusik) Fortuna.

Eugene was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. On May 20, 2000 he married Mary Lou (DiStefano) Fortuna in Niagara Falls, NY. For thirty five years, Eugene worked as an inventory control manager for Hoganas-Pyron in Niagara Falls until his retirement in 2001. He was a sports enthusiast and an outstanding bowler who participated in various local bowling leagues for over thirty years. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. But Eugene's greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by three children, Deborah (Carl) Graff, Janine Fortuna and Craig Fortuna all of the Town of Niagara, NY, two step-children, Jennifer (Scott) Pierce of Lewiston, NY and Larry (Beth) Jackson of the Town of Niagara, NY, six grandchildren, one brother Michael Fortuna of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Kathy (Paul) Chettleburg of North Tonawanda, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Christopher Fortuna.

There will be no prior visitation. Private services and entombment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY at the convenience of the family.
