As the first rays of the morning sun peeked over the horizon on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, Evelyn C. 'Evie' (Perry) Keller, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, let out her final breath at Absolut Healthcare in Gasport, NY. She had been a long-time resident there and was noted for bringing sunshine and warmth into the lives of many others, both patients and staff.

Evelyn attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Evelyn worked as a medical secretary for a number of physicians in Niagara Falls, and she also served as an executive secretary and office manager for the Niagara County Medical Society for thirty years. She was also a member of the Medical Assistants Society. Evelyn was a longtime member of the Inasmuch Class of First Baptist Church in Niagara Falls. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family, working crossword puzzles, and most of all, adoring her grandchildren.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rubina (Jessup) Perry. Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband Raymond A. Kay in 1945 and by her second husband Robert J. Keller in 1999. She is survived by three children: Russell (late Harriet) Kay of Worcester, MA, and Kay (John) Skowronek and Kerrie (Vincent) Piaskowski, Sr. both of Niagara Falls, NY; by six grandchildren, Alexander (Kes) Kay, Dr. Kevin (Caryn) Skowronek, Brian Skowronek, Vincent 'Paul' (Loretta) Piaskowski, Jr., Robert Piaskowski (Lauren Fleming), and Carolyn Kruszona; by three great-grandchildren, Camryn and Kylie Skowronek and Sophia Piaskowski; as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special caregiver Judy Platek. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Harriet (late Horace) Scalzo, and two sisters-in-law, Dorothea (late Robert) Dobbins and Hilda (late Leland) Keller.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 7:30 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY; funeral services will be held there on Saturday June 30th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
