Evelyn A. Zendano, 89, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at her residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Marino) Vespa.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On October 13, 1956, she married her loving husband, Rocco D. Zendano, Sr., in Niagara Falls. Mr. Zendano sadly predeceased her on May 13, 2009.

Evelyn began working at the United States Air Base for several years before joining the N.F. Board of Education. She later retired from the N.F. Department of Community Development as the Rehabilitation Specialist for many years.

Evelyn was a longtime member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an avid reader and a true American history buff. Above all, Evelyn loved spending time with her beloved family.

Mrs. Zendano is survived by her children, Lisa A. (Ron) Chambers, Rocco D. Zendano, Jr. and Daniel A. (Ashley) Zendano; her grandchildren, Alexandra, Anthony, Nicole, Danny and Dominic; her cherished brother, Felix (Flora) Vespa; and the much loved, Susanne Zendano. Evelyn is also survived by her godchildren, Diana Rowland, Salvatore Coniglio and David Zendano; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Vespa.

Private funeral services were held by the family with interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
