Fernando DeRubeis, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 22, 2024 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Gagliano Aterno, L'Aquila, Italy, he was the son of the late Romolo and Maria Stella (Salciccioli) DeRubeis.

Fernando was educated in Italy and came to the United States in 1947.  On January 24, 1953, he married Nellie J. (Corsini) DeRubeis at St. Joseph Church.  Mrs. DeRubeis predeceased him on August 12, 2015.  Fernando was employed as a Production Worker at General Motors/Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992.  He was an avid bowler and golfer, and loved watching hockey and football and was a huge fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Las Vegas Raiders.  Fernando loved to cook, especially Sunday Sauce, and enjoyed weekly 1 PM Sunday gatherings with his family.  He cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be remembered most for his shining personality and great storytelling ability.

Fernando is survived by his grandchildren, Nina DeRubeis and Fernando 'Fred' (Stephanie) DeRubeis; his great-grandchildren, Anthony and Tyler DeRubeis; his brother, Silvio (Marcia) DeRubeis, his beloved nephew, Silvio (Francine) DeRubeis II, his great nephew, Silvio (Rebecca) DeRubeis III, his great niece, Maria Knoebel (Scott VeRost)  and his great-great nieces, Gabriella and Olivia Knoebel, as well as his former daughter-in-law, Sharon (Gil) Paul.  In addition to his wife of 62 years, he was sadly predeceased by his son, Fernando J. DeRubeis.
