Fiorina Maiorana, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2020 at Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Sambiase, Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Giovanna (Cuda) Giampa.
Fiorina was raised and educated in Italy. In 1956, she immigrated to the United States with her husband, Anthony Maiorana, following their marriage. Mr. Maiorana predeceased her on November 9, 2019.
Fiorina was employed as seamstress for many years with Amberg's and Ray's Men's Shop, both in Niagara Falls, and later was self-employed, doing alterations out of her home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to music, and reading. She also enjoyed walking daily and travelling when possible. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Fiorina is survived by two daughters, Maria Maiorana and Lucy (John) Morgus; four grandchildren, Kristen, John, Matthew and Michaela Morgus; her siblings, Carolina (late Jose) Cobo and Luciano Giampa, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she was predeceased by her siblings, Gennaro (Graziella) Giampa, Giovanni (Maria) Giampa, Luigi Giampa, and Maria (late Frank) Tropea.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 19th from 9:30 - 11 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue Niagara Falls, NY, followed by Fiorina's Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Private entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association. Due to the current circumstances, the family understands if you do not feel comfortable attending. Arrangements by M.J.
