Florence (Brookes) Muckley, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday January 3, 2013 at her residence in Lewiston, NY surrounded by her loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Manchester, England she was the daughter of the late Amelia (Brookes) Mathers and step daughter of the late Thomas Mathers.
Florence was educated in England and on June 7, 1955 married Harry Muckley in Kent, England. In the mid 1960's she and her husband immigrated to the United States and settled in Palasades, NY where she worked as a cook and her husband as a butler until moving to Niagara Falls, NY . They returned to England in 1973 where they resided until moving back to Niagara Falls in 1980 where she lived until the present time. Mr. Muckley predeceased her on November 7, 1993. During the 1960's and 1970's Florence worked at the former Warder Paper Box Co. in Niagara Falls. After returning to Niagara Falls she was employed at Mom's Coffee Shop from 1980 until 1987 and in the dining room of Burger King on Military Road in the Town of Niagara from 1987 until retiring in 1993. Florence enjoyed traveling.
Sister-in-law of Ethel (late Edward) Shiah, May (Frank) Boyle both of Niagara Falls, NY and Ronald (Jean) Muckley of Lewiston, NY. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Florence was predeceased by a sister of Cecelia Brookes
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 where funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Zengierski officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
