Florence D. Vaccarella, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Brompton Heights Assisted Living Community in Williamsville, NY. Born in Sicily, Italy on February 19, 1921, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Anna (Adriatico) Accardo.

Florence moved to Niagara Falls as an infant with her family shortly after she was born. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. In 1940, she married Peter Vaccarella, who later predeceased on July 6, 1999 after 59 cherished years together. Florence was employed alongside her husband and assisted him with his everyday union clerical work. She enjoyed reading and traveling throughout the United States and Europe with her husband. Above all, Florence was passionate about her family, whom she loved spending time with.

Mrs. Vaccarella is survived by her two children, Marilyn (Fred) Grabek and Frank (Carmela) Vaccarella; four grandchildren, Eric (Rae Lynn) Grabek, Stephanie Ludes, Peter (Smitha) Vaccarella and Vincent Vaccarella; three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Caila, Kyler and one great-great-grandchild, Kaiden. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Joseph (late Antoinette) Accardo, Sr., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence was predeceased by one brother, Frank (Mary Catherine) Accardo and Beatrice (late Samuel) Cerminara.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29th from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, concluding with a prayer service. Private entombment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
