Frances M. (DeFazio) Archie, 97, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday January 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael A. and Angelina (Pascuzzi) DeFazio, Sr.
Frances attended local schools and on May 28, 1938 she married Daniel F. Archie in St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Archie predeceased her on April 26, 1998. Frances worked in the cafeteria at the former Kimberly Clark Company and later in the custodial department at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was a longtime member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA) Cataract Lodge in Niagara Falls, NY, where she enjoyed working their bingo games. She also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Most importantly, Frances was always dedicated to the care and well being of her family.
Mrs. Archie is survived by two daughters, Noreen (Joseph) Kok of Niagara Falls, NY and Danette (late Edward) Porto of Buffalo, NY, and was predeceased by a son, Daniel J. Archie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grand children, two great- great -grandchildren; a sister Rose (late Gus) Hannahs of TX, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Frances was predeceased by seven siblings, Mary (late John) Lore, Dominic (late Teresa) DeFazio, Lena (late Michael) Smarz, Lucy (late Howard) Collins, Theresa Pasco, Joseph (late Barbara) DeFazio and Michael A. "Iron Mike" DeFazio, Jr.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Wednesday January 7th at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
