Frances Diletti, 92, of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her residence.  The daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosa (Lanni) Petrucci, she was born in St. Elia, Italy (Province of Frosinone).  Her hometown is a small village which sits in the shadow of the famous Benedictine monastery, Monte Cassino.  She immigrated to Canada after the destruction of the area during WWII.

In 1949, Frances moved to Hamilton, Ontario to live with relatives. There, she met her husband, Michael R. Diletti, whom she later married in 1952. Together they settled in Niagara Falls, NY where they raised their six children. Michael sadly predeceased her in 1986.

At home, Frances enjoyed hosting holiday dinners and large gatherings.  Her love of cooking was evident by the table of food prepared to feed an army.  Frances was also known for her incredible vegetable and flower gardens.  Frances was an integral part of the family's business, Buzzy's Pizza, for many years. Her sauce and dressing recipes continue to be loved by many.  Patrons of the restaurant enjoyed seeing and talking to her while they dined.  She was a longtime parishioner of St. John de LaSalle Church and attended church regularly.  Above all, Frances enjoyed spending time with her beloved family who will miss her dearly.

Mrs. Diletti is survived by her children, John Diletti, Anna Diletti, Michael Diletti, Frank Diletti, RosaMaria Diletti and Mark (Jeri) Diletti; her grandchildren, Gabrielle D. (Shawn) Markle; Michael K. Diletti, Sara M. (Matthew) Diletti-Swenson, Michael R. Diletti and Anthony J. Diletti; three brothers, Dominic, Angelo and Luigi Petrucci, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by eight siblings.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 29 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 11:15 AM., followed by Frances' Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
