IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances M.
Garcia
May 10, 2020
Frances M. Garcia, 97, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family at her residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie (Riggi) Cicatello.
Frances was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She married Francisco "Frank" Garcia at St. Joseph Church. Mr. Garcia predeceased her on May 10, 1991.
As a young lady, Frances started working at Neisner's five-and-dime store. She then went to work as a bank teller at Marine Midland Bank on Pine Avenue & 19th Street. When her children were born, she worked for the Como Restaurant as a hostess and waitress. She later decided to return to the Marine Midland Bank as a drive thru teller at Main Street & Michigan Avenue, where she was well known by all of her customer's children as the cheerful lady who always had candy for them. Frances went on to retire from the Marine Midland Bank on Haeberle Avenue in 1988 after many memorable years.
Following retirement, Frances enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting, beading, swimming and exercise classes with her girlfriends. Frances was also an avid walker. When she wanted something from the store or restaurant and there was no ride, she went on her foot mobile, rain, snow or sunshine, there was no stopping Frances!!! Just like the energizer bunny she kept going and going and going!!!
Above all, she enjoyed being around her sons, daughter-in-law, Virginia, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her extended family. Frances' kitchen was always open to family and friends. She was a loving and compassionate person who had an infectious laugh which brought out much laughter in other people. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Robert Garcia of Las Vegas, NV, and Frank (Virginia) Garcia of Lewiston, NY; four grandchildren, Frank (Jordan) Garcia, Dana (Travis) Senokosoff, Robert Garcia and Matthew Garcia; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alaina and Sarah Garcia, and Luke and Lina Senokosoff; her sister, Joan (Philip) Infantino, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Octavia, Angelo and John Cicatello.
Due to recent circumstances, funeral services and entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery will be held privately for the family. A public Memorial Service for Frances will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by M.J.
