Frances "Fran" M. Utcig, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 15, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Yolanda (Giovanucci) Sandonato.

Fran came to the Niagara Falls area with her family in 1966 and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On July 20, 1985, she married Richard "Rick" Utcig at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls. She worked various jobs throughout her life, but spent over 20 years as a Title Clerk at Joe Cecconi's Chrysler Complex in Niagara Falls, retiring in 2017.

She was a proud member of the Niagara Falls Ladies Bocce League at Hyde Park, the Elks Lodge, the LaSalle Yacht Club, and the LaSalle Sportsman Club. Fran loved attending Broadway shows at Shea's, cooking, and had a lifelong affection for dogs—especially her beloved boxers. She enjoyed fun, laughter, and time spent with her friends and family. Known for her sense of style, she loved to dress up, shop, and embrace her inner fashionista.

In addition to her husband of 40 years, Fran is survived by her children, Sheri Durkin and Anthony George; her grandson, Kyle Brady Durkin; her sister, Clelia "Claire" (late Bruno) Forgione; her sister‑in‑law, Krystina (George) Bennett; and her two lifelong friends, Marge Serianni‑George and Kathy Marasco‑Culbreth. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Dominic Sandonato, two sisters, and her cherished fur babies, Cleo and Troi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 3 – 6 PM at M.J.
