Francesco Viola, of the Town of Niagara, NY entered into rest on January 17, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Frank was born in Amantea, Cosenza, Italy on August 21, 1932. He was the son of the late Antonio and Serafina (Valentino) Viola.
He came to America at the age of 17 in pursuit of the American dream. On June 9th 1956 he married Costanza (Sicoli) Viola in Italy and returned to settle in Niagara Falls, NY. Working as a carpenter and cabinet maker for Forgione Lumber Co., Booth & Strong Lumber Co. and LaVia Construction, he mastered his trade and along with his brother Patsy, and founded Viola Cabinet Co. in 1958, which is still family run today. Building homes and custom cabinets from the 1960's through the 1980's, the company was involved in many prestigious residential and commercial projects. As a Master Cabinet Maker, Frank helped transform the company focus to custom cabinetry which included store fixtures for Saks Fifth Avenue stores throughout the US and custom residential cabinetry for some of the area's finest homes. His strong work ethic kept him working to the age of 76, when, after some persuasion, decided to retire.
Frank was known to have a unique sense of humor which will always be remembered by his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and wine making. He was a Buffalo Sabres fan and also enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs lose to any team. He was a member of the Century Club, the Cristoforo Colombo Society and various Bocce leagues. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud Papa to his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Francesco is survived by his five children, Sandro Viola (Mary Beth Spacone) of the Town of Niagara, Patsy (Tiffany) Viola of the Town of Niagara, Frank (Valerie) Viola Jr. of Keystone, Colorado, John (Deseree) Viola of San Juan Capistrano, California and Marco (Rene) Viola of Fairport, NY ; grandchildren, Danielle (Fabio) Frisoli, Vincenza Viola, Francesca Viola, Michael Viola, Patrick Viola, Nicholas (Jamie) Viola, Francesco Viola III, Grace Viola, Andrew (Hannah) Viola, Sandro Viola, Gianni Viola, Marco Viola, Serafina Viola and Mia Viola; four great-grandchildren, Delilah, Donovan "The Don", Alessandra and Isabella; His brothers, Alessandro "Alex" (Late Ida) Viola of Cape Coral, Florida and Olindo (Janet) Viola of Highland, California, His In-Laws, Gennaro (Marisa) Sicoli, of Amantea, Italy, Maria (John) Urban of Niagara Falls, Mela (Late Eugenio) Grabelli of Amantea, Italy, Antonio (Late Maria) Sicoli of Amantea, Italy and Aldo (Tiziana) Sicoli of Florence, Italy . Frank was predeceased by his siblings Pasquale "Patsy" (Late Rosina) Viola, Salvatore "Sam" (Late Maria) Viola, Ida (Late Saverio) Naccarato, Rita (Late Joseph) Tardibuono, Ottavio "Otto" Viola and Amedeo Viola. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
