Francis J. Valente, 90, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Elderwood at Wheatfield SNF, NY. Born on April 29, 1931, in Retsof, NY, he was the son of the late Ignazio and Rita Rose (Cichelli) Valente.

Francis was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1953. On April 16, 1955 he married his beloved wife Lorita M. (Mittiga) Valente at the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church. His beloved wife, Lorita Valente, predeceased him on May 27, 2015.

Francis enjoyed his working career as the Superintendent of Maintenance at Stauffer Chemical Company. He then continued his career at Calspan Corporation of Buffalo, NY as a Wind Tunnel mechanic for many years prior to his retirement.

Francis was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved tending to his garden and took great pride in the upkeep of his cars. He especially enjoyed listening to loud disco music while driving or detailing his car. One of his past-time activities was enjoying bingo with family and friends. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Valente is survived by his children, Renee (Charles) Demski, Frank (Darlene) Valente and David (Kari) Valente; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Amato, Alisha (Nicholas) DeSantis, Frankie Valente, Zachary Valente and Austin Joseph; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Salvatore Amato; three siblings, Mary (late Anthony) Piccirillo, Philomena (late Anthony) Yamonaco, Florence (late Samuel) Archie and was predeceased by an infant brother, Frank Valente. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunt's, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 31 from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon.
