Frank Blazick, 85, of Lewiston NY, died on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Plymouth, PA he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Augustyn) Blazick.
Frank attended school in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army Airforce during World War II. In 1946 he moved to the Niagara Falls area where he lived until the present time. On October 21, 1947 he married Catherine (Paul) Blazick at St. Ann's Church in Hornell, NY. Frank was employed as a machine operator at the former Kimberly Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls, NY and retired in 1973 after twenty seven years of service. Following his retirement he continued working at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base maintaining the roads and grounds for the 914th Tactical Air Lift Group until 1987. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls, NY. In his leisure time Frank enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees baseball team.
In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Frank is survived by two children Stephen (Marti) Blazick of Lewiston, NY and Jody (James) Wienke of the Town of Niagara; four grandchildren Jonathan (Julie) Blazick, Kenneth (fiancé Haley Stoll) Blazick, Joseph Blazick and JoAnna (fiancé James Wallace) Wienke, two great grandchildren Jackson Porter Blazick and Jenna Lee Wallace, two brothers and one sister Joseph Blazick, Dorothy (Leonard) Brussock, and Chester (Vern) Blazick all of Pennsylvania; Sister in law Alma (late Ronald) Coleman of Pennsylvania and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers Henry (late Evelyn) Blazick, Leonard (Mary of Pennsylvania) Blazick, Sylvester (late Doris) Blazick and Theodore (Mary Ann of Pennsylvania) Blazick.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass with Military Honors on Monday August 23, 2010 at 10:30am at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in The Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi in Tonawanda, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
