Frank J. Chirello, 88, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, at Elderwood at Wheatfield. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, on January 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank Chirello, Sr. and Mary (Lorenti) Chirello.
Frank attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational School. On October 7, 1967, he married the love of his life, Barbara E. (Browder) Chirello. Together they shared nearly 59 years of marriage and built a wonderful family filled with love and cherished memories.
Frank was employed as a pressman with Graphics Controls in Buffalo for more than 30 years, retiring in 1997. In addition, he proudly owned and operated Chirello Painting from 1976 until his retirement in 2007.
An active member of both the Niagara Frontier Country Club and the Cristoforo Colombo Society, Frank had a lifelong passion for sports. Following high school, he played semi-professional football locally and was the Niagara Falls YMCA handball champion. He also enjoyed tremendous success on the golf course, winning numerous tournaments and earning induction into the Niagara Falls Old Timers Hall of Fame for all of his sports accolades.
Beyond sports, Frank found great joy in cooking, especially when preparing meals for family and friends. He enjoyed dining out, dancing, and sharing laughter with those around him. Known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and playful sarcasm, Frank will be remembered most for his unwavering devotion to his family and the love he shared with them.
In addition to his beloved wife, Barbara, Frank is survived by his children, Frank Chirello, Jr., Christopher Chirello, and Courtney (Christopher) Butera; his cherished grandchildren, Arianna, Gabriella, and Noah Butera; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Frances Scarfone, Lawrence (Shirley) Chirello, and Carolyn Chirello.
