Frank F. Cirrincione, 91, formerly of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Sunday April 21, 2013 after a long illness at Absolute Care in Gasport, NY where he has resided since 2006. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Vincent and Marie Cirrincione.
Frank was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. During World War II, he served as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy aboard the NTS Sampson, USS Iowa and the USS Wisconsin from November 14, 1942 until his honorable discharge on October 23, 1945. Prior to serving in the Navy, Frank worked for Hooker Chemical Company, later known as Occidental Chemical Co., in Niagara Falls, NY as a shipper from 1940 until 1942. Following his discharge, he continued working at Hooker Chemical Co. until his retirement on February 1, 1984. Frank was a very sociable person, who loved his dogs. He had a passion for horse racing, and in his leisure time, also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and going to the Casino.
Frank was predeceased by his wife Dorothy N. (Graves) Cirrincione on January 2, 2008. He is survived by his children, Vincent Cirrincione of Los Angeles, CA; Nicholas (Helena) Cirrincione, Diane Carsone, and Marie DeVita all of Brooklyn, NY; step-daughters, Shelley (Bruce) Gorzka of the Town of Niagara, NY and Wendy (Paul) Liddy of Millersburg, MI; six grandchildren, Nikki Carsone, Angela DeVita both of Brooklyn, NY; Julie (fiancé Walter) Clark of the Town of Niagara; Ryan (Yulia) Clark of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Dennis Teamore of Millersburg, MI and Paul Liddy of Detroit, MI, his twin sister Ann Elia of Florida, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins and dear caregivers and friends at Absolute Care. Frank was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Kristen Liddy and four brothers, Joseph Cirrincione, Raymond Cirrincione, Anthony Cirrincione and Michael Cirrincione.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday April 25th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226 or to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.
